Product Overview

Complete engine mount and upper bracket kit for a Mazda Miata ND MX5 by AWR Racing.

AWR MX-5 mounts are a must have for every enthusiast. There is no substitute for the quality, design, and benefits these mounts transfer to your vehicle.

AWR's engine mount kit is a direct bolt on replacement for your MX5 ND chassis. Fabricated steel replacement motor mounts provided with Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings that mount in the factory location giving more secure engine support. These mounts improve shifting and completely change the feel of the car keeping power sent to the wheels as it should be. Want less engine movement, cleaner shifts, as well as many more benefits? Look no further - AWR Racing has you covered! AWR offers the best valued mounts that suit driver needs. We have durometer options for daily, aggressive, and track driven builds. Street and track proven since 1995. This kit is also provided with both passenger and drivers side upper brackets. AWR Racing's MX5 ND upper brackets are specifically built to allow the use of an aftermarket exhaust header as well as an OEM header in any model ND MX5. The passenger side upper bracket is nickel plated for a more durable finish around the heat of the exhaust, this kit is also supplied with a heat shield that attaches to the passenger side mount and bracket. The drivers side bracket is powder coated. These ND upper brackets are made in the USA, laser cut, CNC folded, and tig welded.

These mounts help stop drive train lash (rocking) when transitioning from on and off the throttle. Help keep that engine stable inside the engine compartment, putting the power to the ground instead of rocking the engine and missing shifts. Provides a more direct throttle response and more precise gear selections. These engine mounts are both street and track proven.

What durometer is best for you?

At AWR Racing, we have been making high performance Miata mounts since 1995. We have updated our Miata motor mounts to a larger bushing size which helps reduce NVH, specifically reduce cabin vibration. Alongside a bigger bushing design, we have launched our tested and proven 62 durometer Energy Suspension polyurethane option which is perfect for daily and street use. Are you looking for stability without much NVH transferred to your vehicle? 62 durometer is the perfect solution for you.

62 - 70 durometer is recommended for daily driving with little to no mods. 70 - 88 durometer is recommended for lightly to intermediate modification levels. 88 - 95 durometer is recommended for highly modified street and track builds. You can always opt for a different durometer if your first choice doesn't suit you needs, all of our bushings can be swapped out or replaced!

  • 62 durometer (ultra soft)
  • 70 durometer (soft)
  • 88 durometer (medium)
  • 95 durometer (hard)

Initial NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) will start to settle after about 500 miles driven.

OEM brackets tend to break often on the ND MX-5's, upgrade to these mounts and never worry about replacing on ever again!

All steel fabricated units are provided with a lifetime warranty.

Warranty Information

AWR believes so strongly in their engine mounts and sway bars that they back them with a limited Lifetime Warranty. What's more, this warranty, excluding bushings, is retroactive to all mounts and sway bars built previously by AWR. Basically, if it breaks or fails, AWR will fix or replace it at their discretion. The warranty is 'limited' in that bushings are considered a normal wear item, so the urethane or rubber bushings are not covered, but if the metal cracks, breaks or otherwise fails, we'll replace or repair it.

    Quality Upgrade

Posted by Nathan Boyle on 27th Feb 2023

This was 3rd vehicle I've installed AWR mounts on! Always happy with the quality and quickness of my orders! On top of receiving a great product, AWR's customer service is top notch! Will always look to AWR whenever upgrading my mounts on my cars.

    I should've bought these sooner!

Posted by John H on 6th Oct 2022

First off - this one simple mod will change the feel of the miata and the best part about it get to choose by how much. Whether you're replacing the oem mounts to these and run the ultra soft option or you're a track/canyon carver using stiffer mounts; you won't regret the extra compliance, strength and enhanced driver feel these mounts will communicate based off your durometer choice. Secondly, AWR makes a strong yet beautiful product and you can easily see the craftsmanship put into it. If it sounds like I love these mounts, you're absolutely right. My only regret is not buying these sooner on my 21 ND2. Family owned and operated, what else does this review need to help you make the right choice!

    2016 - 2018 MX5 MOTOR MOUNT SET

Posted by Vince on 11th Aug 2022

11th Nov 2021 This review is for the shipping, packing, component quality, and customer service for the complete engine mount set for my MX5 RF recent purchase. I bought the 62 set and am very anxious to install on my turbo charged modified car. This will be a winter project as my car is up on jacks here on east coast. I will comment on performance next year but wanted to expressed how pleased I am with everything AWR has provided so far. Truly a get company to do business with. I highly recommend using their products. Thank you, Vince

    Go for the 95's!

Posted by Kainoa on 11th Aug 2022

9th Mar 2020 I was gonna go for the 88 durometer set like the few who already put up reviews online, but I thought, "Ahh, what the hell..." I went with the 95's instead, and no regrets! These with the JBR diff mount are completely tame for a hard driven street car. Maybe it's just me, but I'm sure I wouldn't even be able to tell the difference in NVH if I went with the 88 or 70, stiff suspension definitely gives more "discomfort" than these ever could. If you wanna buy em, then buy the 95's!

    Awesome Motor Mounts

Posted by Kent on 11th Aug 2022

7th Oct 2019 Installed these on my 2017 MX5 RF that spends most of its life on track. I have the 88 durometer bushings. Bottom line - I really like them and recommend them to anyone tracking their car. I get way more feedback on track from the engine. Yes it has more NVH but in a good way. When driving to the track in 6th gear, I don't even notice the difference. At stoplight idle, I'll notice it in the mirrors a bit but it isn't the teeth-chattering experience many say it will be. Another benefit is the durability. The OEM mounts are fragile and the top mount will sometimes break in an aggressive off. I don't have to worry about that anymore. Installation isn't terribly difficult. Hardest part is accessing some of the nuts but with extensions, wobbles and jointed socket extensions, it is doable at home. Stop wondering if you should and just get them!!

    Engine Mounts

Posted by Robert on 27th Nov 2021

I finished my first event with these mounts. Shifts are so much smoother and I can feel the car more. It sounds different (in a good way) which surprised me. I got the 95 durometer. Less NVH than I thought it would be., My mechanic who has installed tons of mounts in Miatas thought they were 70's. I could daily these no problem in So Cal weather. In 40 degree weather at the track when I went to get gas 7am in the morning, there was a lot of NVH but it settled back down once things warmed up.

    Love my car again

Posted by James C on 8th Jun 2021

These mounts added exactly what my car needed. Shifts are so much smoother and there is a night and day difference on track. If you don't have these mounts and you track your ND, you're terribly missing out. 100% worth it.

AWR ND engine mounts for aftermarket header

Posted by Ryan Slagle on 22nd Feb 2021

Overall quality is top notch, but one of the bolts provided was too long (35mm but should be 25mm) tested on a spare block I have and the bolt clearly bottomed out before engaging with the mount.
