Product Overview

2001 - 2005 1.8 Miata Drivers Side engine mount by AWR Racing.

Drivers side 2001 - 2005 Miata mount by AWR Racing. Some enthusiasts like to mix and match our performance motor mounts with the Mazda Competition mounts. This is also known to most as the hybrid motor mount kit. This kit gives you the aggressive street performance yet still offers minimal enhanced NVH or cabin vibrations. Greatly improves shifter placement to reduce missed shifts which happens often with factory engine mounts. The engine flops around in the engine bay which in turn tries to rotate the transmission lever away from the driver.

AWR's driver side engine mount is a direct bolt on replacement for your Miata chassis with a 1.8L motor. Fabricated steel replacement motor mount provided with Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings that mount in the factory location giving more secure engine support. This mount improves shifting and completely changes the feel of the car keeping power sent to the wheels as it should be. Want less engine movement, cleaner shifts, as well as many more benefits? Look no further - AWR Racing has you covered! AWR offers the best valued mounts that suit driver needs. We have durometer options for daily, aggressive, and track driven builds. Street and track proven since 1995.

What durometer is best for you?

At AWR Racing, we have been making high performance Miata mounts since 1995. We have updated our Miata motor mounts to a larger bushing size which helps reduce NVH, specifically reduce cabin vibration. Alongside a bigger bushing design, we have launched our tested and proven 62 durometer Energy Suspension polyurethane option which is perfect for daily and street use. Are you looking for stability without much NVH transferred to your vehicle? 62 durometer is the perfect solution for you.

62 - 70 durometer is recommended for daily driving with little to no mods. 70 - 88 durometer is recommended for lightly to intermediate modification levels. 88 - 95 durometer is recommended for highly modified street and track builds. You can always opt for a different durometer if your first choice doesn't suit you needs, all of our bushings can be swapped out or replaced!

62 durometer (ultra soft)
70 durometer (soft)
88 durometer (medium)
95 durometer (hard)
Initial NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) will start to settle after about 500 miles driven.

Application:

Drivers side engine mount for the 2001 - 2005 NB 1.8 Mazda Miata.

AWR Miata mounts are a must have for every enthusiast. There is no substitute for the quality, design, and benefits these mounts transfer to your vehicle.

Warranty Information

AWR believes so strongly in our engine mounts and sway bars that as of May, 2008 we are now backing them with a limited Lifetime Warranty. What’s more, this warranty, excluding bushings, is retroactive to all mounts built previously by AWR. Basically, if it breaks or fails, we’ll fix or replace it at our discretion. The warranty is ‘limited’ in that bushings are considered a normal wear item, so the urethane or rubber bushings are not covered, but if the metal cracks, breaks or otherwise fails, we’ll replace or repair it. As of now, there are no warranties, either expressed or implied for any other items.

Great for a hybrid mount setup

I'm using this mount (70d) on the driver side of my supercharged Miata, along with a Mazda Comp mount on the passenger side. NVH was very bad for the first few drives, but the bushing broke in nicely and after ~1,000 miles there is very little additional NVH compared to the OEM mounts. I originally installed the AWR with an OEM passengers side mount, but after it broke in, I still had a good bit of shifter movement on rough roads. I swapped in a Mazda Comp mount on the passengers side to take address this, and to my surprise, I found a huge decrease in NVH at idle and when letting out the clutch. I'm not sure why this is, but I am not complaining. Overall, shifting is much more precise than it was with OEM mounts, and the car feels a lot tighter when WOT and when lifting off the throttle. The install on the drivers side was not fun, but it's definitely worth the frustration. I think upgraded mounts are a must on all boosted Miatas.
